Rule34 is a internet maxim which states that there is some form of pornography on every conceivable concept or topic found on the internet. Most commonly depicted in fan art, such as DC rule 24 or Marvel rule 24.
History
The term seems to have originated from a 2003 webcomic named “Rule #34 There is porn of it. No exceptions”, illustrated by Peter Morley-Souter (see above featured image) to depict his shock as seeing the famous Calvin and Hobbes parody pornography.
It has become a fairly prevelant meme among genres such as fan fiction, hentai, and slash fiction.
Variations
There are differing variations of the rule.
Rule 34: There is porn of it.
Rule 34: If it exists, there is porn of it.
Rule 34: If it exists, there is Internet porn of it.
Rule 34: If you can imagine it, it exists as Internet porn.
Rule 34(r): If it exists, there is a subreddit devoted to it.
